Fairmoove and Kactus introduce FairScore to the professional events sector

A new rating aims to make CSR in professional events measurable and comparable

On 27 January 2026, Fairmoove Solutions, a specialist in environmental labelling, officially announced its partnership with the French scale-up Kactus to offer an evaluation of professional events based on environmental and social criteria.

The MICE sector now has its own CSR score. Kactus and Fairmoove Solutions have launched FairScore Events, a rating system designed to demonstrate the responsible performance of professional events. This tool aims to clarify and make comparable the CSR commitments of venues and service providers by offering an independent standard for assessing them. It is intended for companies that want to consider responsible criteria from the venue selection stage, as well as event providers who want to showcase their verified efforts.

FairScore Events assesses events based on three criteria: environmental (energy, water, waste, catering, mobility, life cycle analysis); territorial (local employment, partnerships, economic contribution); and social (working conditions, HR practices). This rating methodology will be progressively integrated into the Kactus platform, starting in spring 2026. At launch, the corporate event specialist aims to have evaluated 1,000 venues and leverages a network of over 40,000 partner venues across Europe for large-scale deployment.

Social and environmental responsibility is becoming a key criterion in event organisation. According to the 2025 Meetings & Events Kactus x IFTM barometer, 66% of companies integrate CSR from the initial research stage. However, in practice, only 32% of events conclude in a certified venue. According to the two partners, this illustrates the difficulty professionals face in comparing such diverse approaches.

'For a long time, the recognition of CSR commitments in the events industry remained at the level of intention,' says Jean-Pierre Nadir, founder of FairMoove. 'Companies expressed requirements, but when it came to choosing a venue, they lacked the concrete information needed to make an informed decision.' FairScore was born from this observation: for responsibility to become a true decision-making criterion, a common language based on verified and comparable data is necessary. It’s not a tool for judgement; it’s a tool for progress. It enables the market to progress beyond mere declarations and adopt a system of tangible measurements.”

With over 1,200 venues already supported by FairMoove Solutions, the system is designed to adapt to real-world conditions. Kactus, a specialist in event management, has nearly 100 employees and boasts 35,000 corporate clients. It also relies on 40,000 venues and partner service providers across Europe.
