East Midlands Trains has announced the launch of ‘My Journeys’, its new online journey planning tool, developed by its web agency ILN (Illustrated London News) (www.iln.co.uk.).
Available immediately, ‘My Journeys’ vastly reduces the time taken by customers to access crucial journey-related information and offers a personalised suite of journey planning tools.
‘My Journeys’ is hosted on the East Midlands Trains website, managed by ILN. Following registration, customers receive a range of customised journey planning services all on one easily navigable screen.
Repeat users will immediately be recognised, their previous search requests visible within seconds.
The new services include:
* customised timetables
* personalised live departure board
* countdown timer to the next train
* notice of planned engineering works
* interactive engineering works map
* advance warning of ticket release dates
Marc Turley, head of marketing for East Midlands Trains, commented: “’My Journeys’ allows East Midlands Trains to lead the way in eCRM product development for UK rail users.
“It offers more functionality and consumer engagement opportunities and will allow users to benefit from high value information relevant to their journey, both for leisure and business, as well as more targeted offers and promotions.”
Neil Vose, digital director at ILN, said: “The rail industry has been known for clumsy journey planning tools and inconsistent information, often causing more confusion than help.
“‘My Journeys’ has allowed East Midlands Trains to revolutionise the way rail passengers can access journey planning information and creates an engaging interactive CRM platform, which drives customer acquisition, conversion and retention.”
