Former group marketing director at The Travel Network Group, Si Morris-Green, has launched his own travel business consultancy, called Evolve.

He left the consortium in February and has spent three months on gardening leave, taking time out to spend with his two young children.

“I did look outside the industry but I have been in travel for 17 years and cannot imagine doing anything else – it’s in my blood,” he said.

“I was at TTNG for seven years, looking at how to make an impact and helping with business development.

“Looking at the industry, there is a big gap for someone who can be an extension to a team – I can make an impactful change.”

Evolve will launch on Monday and offers support for businesses that want to make a “step change” – helping with marketing, digital activities, event support, commercial awareness, business development and PR.

He wants to work with retail agents and tour operators, and aims to expand into the cruise sector in August.

“There is a lot of change in the industry and if people do not embrace it, the opportunity will go,” he said.

“There is an appetite for change with factors such as Brexit, so you need to evolve to survive.”

Morris-Green began his career working overseas and then in the UK for Thomas Cook. He then worked at Planet Cruise for eight years before joining TTNG.
