Expedia rolls out new suite of AI tools

Features aim to help partners ‘drive speed, scale and personalisation’

Expedia Group unveiled a new suite of AI and machine learning-powered tools.

New trip planning tool Smart Trip AI provides hotel and activity inspiration and recommendations for the global OTA’s customers through AI in a conversational style.

And a new Lodging Sponsored Listings API is an advertising solution that unlocks advertising for B2B partners, enabling them to display sponsored listings from Expedia on their own sites, apps or platforms to monetise traffic.

Meanwhile, a Merchandising API which helps hoteliers and package holiday providers to promote their products at relevant times in a bid to increase conversion is in the beta phase of testing.

And it also offers a Typehead API, which makes recommendations to customers while they are typing into the search bar.

Expedia says the features are designed to help its partners ‘drive speed, scale and personalisation’.

The group has integrated more than 350 AI models throughout its marketplace.

Alfonso Paredes, president, Expedia Group B2B, said: “As the leader in B2B travel, our goal is to be the one stop shop for our partners by giving them the smartest, most reliable and scalable tools in the industry.

“From AI powered trip planning to new merchandising and advertising solutions, we help partners grow with confidence, deliver exceptional experiences and stay competitive in a fast-changing travel landscape.”

Karen Bolda, chief product and technology officer, B2B, added: “Through this new suite of tools, we’re enabling seamless, personalised experiences that turn inspiration into action and traffic into value.

“This is about empowering our partners to grow with speed, intelligence, and impact in a rapidly evolving travel landscape.”
