Amex GBT offers self-service consulting platform to SMEs

Travel Toolbox designed to ‘turn travel into a competitive advantage’

American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) has launched a digital platform offering ‘professional-grade’ travel consulting insights to small and mid-sized businesses (SMEs).

The software and services company’s Travel Toolbox is designed to help SMEs manage complex travel requirements with limited resources by extracting insights from their data.

Amex GBT says its new platform digitises the expertise of its consulting team into self-service tools which ‘travel managers can use at their own pace’.

The tool is billed to help drive improvements in cost management, traveller experience, travel policy effectiveness, and sustainable travel practices and ‘turn travel into a competitive advantage’.

The platform overlays benchmarks, best practices, and context on top of data, displaying it through interactive dashboards and guided modules. Travel managers gain visibility into travel behavior patterns, can identify efficiencies, and get guidance on enhancing duty of care for travel wellbeing.

The rollout follows research by Amex GBT and Ipsos, which found that the fastest-growing SMEs are more likely to view international travel as vital to the success of their business, seek professional external advice on travel management, and travel more frequently than slower-growing firms.

Dan Beauchamp, vice president, consulting, at Amex GBT, said:“Travel Toolbox is a strategic partner for SMEs by providing tailored consulting guidance as and when travel managers need it.

“We’re empowering businesses to optimise their travel strategies, regardless of size or budget limitations. Our goal is to transform travel from a mere operational expense into a strategic lever for business growth and efficiency.”

Travel Toolbox is free at entry point and premium upgrades are available.
