Skyscanner has expanded its package holiday comparison product into France, the Netherlands, Italy and Spain, as the travel metasearch company looks to grow its presence in the holiday packages market.

The expansion builds on the product’s launch in the UK and Germany earlier this year, with further market rollouts planned for 2027.

Skyscanner’s platform allows travellers to compare package holiday deals from tour operators, online travel agencies (OTAs) and airlines, including TUI, Jet2, Expedia, On the Beach, easyJet holidays, lastminute.com and loveholidays.

Newly signed providers include British Airways Holidays, Sembo and AirNGo.

The company said its package comparison product connects providers with more than 160 million monthly travellers across its platform, using its metasearch technology and pricing data to help holidaymakers compare options and find deals.

Skyscanner is reporting growing demand for package holidays, with interest increasing by 19% during the peak booking season. The company also said 91 million package searches take place on its platform every day.

Skyscanner said its comparison offering aims to reduce the complexity of holiday planning while helping package providers connect with travellers who demonstrate a high intent to book.

Catriona King, global vice-president of commercial at Skyscanner, said: “We believe that finding the best travel deal shouldn't feel like another chore so we want to offer travellers the very best options for their holiday,” she said.

“Since launching, our package comparison product has been incredibly popular with holidaymakers. We are now expanding across EMEA and we have added new providers further boosting options for the 91 million packages which are searched every day on our site.”

King said Skyscanner was applying its technology and pricing data to a traditionally established part of the travel industry, with strong demand already emerging for flight-and-hotel combinations.

The expansion comes as travel platforms continue to broaden the range of products travellers can compare and book, with package holidays offering providers another route to reach customers researching their next trip.
