Snap-happy Instagramers are more than ten times likely to post a picture taken in London than the next most popular Insta-destination in the UK – Manchester.
There has been 72.5million mentions of the UK capital on the picture sharing site since it launched, compared to 6.5 million in Manchester, according to analysis by social media analytics company Iconosquare.
Liverpool, with 5.1 million mentions, was third, ahead of Edinburgh, Brighton, Glasgow, Birmingham, Newcastle, Bristol and Leeds.
Romain Ouzeau, chief executive of Iconosquare, said: “With 600 million monthly active users, Instagram is a great litmus test for spotting what’s popular with the general public online.”
