OpenJaw Technologies, a leader in delivering high performance travel distribution solutions to the global travel industry, today announced that it has been selected by Scandinavia’s leading online travel company, Nordic Direct Travel, to provide a new travel technology platform that will power its online travel agencies “GoToGate” in Norway & Sweden and “Flybillet” in Denmark.
Nordic Direct Travel, a subsidiary of VIA Travel AS, chose OpenJaw Technologies to provide them with a new technology platform which will enable them to consolidate their brands GOTOGATE.no, GOTOGATE.se and Flybillet.dk onto a single platform which supports multiple currencies and languages as well as access to a common back office system.
The new technology platform will also support the dynamic packaging of air and hotel components which can then be combined with ancillary products, such as events and destination activities, insurance and other travel services.
Nordic Direct Travel will also use the platform for servicing, allowing their call centre agents to amend bookings as well as the cross-selling and up-selling of travel products.
Jon Even Sørlie, chief executive of Nordic Direct Travel, said: “We are pleased to announce that we have selected OpenJaw Technologies to consolidate our three online travel agencies onto a single platform, streamlining our operations and reducing our maintenance costs. The new platform will also enable us to Dynamically Package our inventory and offer multiple selling processes such as shopping cart, the cross selling of hotels and cars and add-on components such as events and insurance.”
John McQuillan, chief executive of OpenJaw Technologies, added: “We are delighted to have been chosen by Nordic Direct Travel as their technology partner. The new travel technology platform will provide them with significant operational efficiencies across their Scandinavian brands as well as providing the flexibility to support Dynamic Packaging and ancillary selling. We look forward to working with them on this innovative project. “
