PROS and IBS Software have joined forces to offer airlines an integrated approach to modern retailing, combining their respective Offer and Order management technologies.
The strategic partnership will bring together PROS Kairos Offer Management capabilities with IBS Software’s iRetail Order Management platform, creating an interoperable solution designed to help airlines accelerate their transition to modern retailing.
It's intended to provide an alternative to single-vendor retailing suites, allowing airlines to adopt best-of-breed technologies without having to overhaul their entire commercial technology infrastructure.
The companies said the pre-engineered integration would "reduce complexity and speed up modernisation", while enabling airlines to retain existing technology investments and introduce new capabilities at their own pace.
Connecting the two platforms, PROS CEO Sunil John said the partnership would give airlines greater flexibility over how they approach their retailing transformation.
"Airlines want the freedom to modernise on their own terms while improving commercial performance," he said.
"Our partnership with IBS Software brings together best-in-class Offer and Order capabilities in an open, interoperable ecosystem, helping airlines accelerate modern retailing, create more relevant traveller offers, and capture greater value across the retailing lifecycle."
Somit Goyal, CEO of IBS Software, said the partnership was designed to address the choice airlines face between adopting a single technology stack or integrating multiple solutions themselves.
"Airlines have been asked to choose between a single stack they cannot shape and a modular approach they have to assemble themselves. Our partnership with PROS is designed to change that equation," he said.
"By bringing together two companies with a shared commitment to customer choice and innovation, we are creating a more open and practical path to modern retailing; one that preserves flexibility, accelerates transformation, and delivers stronger commercial outcomes."
The partnership comes as airlines continue to explore the transition towards modern airline retailing, with the separation and integration of Offer and Order capabilities becoming an important consideration in how carriers evolve their technology infrastructure.
The companies believe its combined proposition will give airlines greater choice over their technology partners while providing a more straightforward route to modern retailing and improved commercial performance.
