27,000 activities and 8,000 providers combined
CheckYeti acquires Manawa to become a European outdoor leader
CheckYeti has acquired Manawa, uniting two European marketplaces for outdoor activities. The announcement points to a combined catalogue exceeding 27,000 activities offered by more than 8,000 providers across the continent.
The companies position the deal as a structural step for the market, aiming to broaden access to nature and adventure experiences from Mediterranean coasts to Alpine resorts.
The integration of offers translates into an immediate expansion of choice. Both platforms say they will draw on their respective expertise to harmonise search, comparison and booking.
Manawa will retain its brand and teams, and confirmed bookings remain unchanged - a continuity move intended to preserve ties with customer and provider communities.
Manawa has become an established name in recent years. Acquired in 2022 by the Alentour platform, the company later gave its name to the group formed from that deal.
The stated ambition is to build a European leader in outdoor experiences. CheckYeti pitches more visibility and sales channels for professionals, and for travellers, simpler access to a wider range of experiences. “We’ve always believed Europe deserves its own home-grown platform for outdoor activities.
Teaming up with Manawa is a big step toward that. And at the end of the day, it’s good news for everyone: the providers, the destinations, and especially you, planning your next trip,” said Jakob Keller, chief executive of CheckYeti.
For Timothée de Roux, chief executive of Manawa, the deal also fits an agenda of bolstering European digital sovereignty. “We share the ambition to build the European reference platform for nature and outdoor experiences,” he said.
“This transaction also helps strengthen European digital sovereignty by bringing together two European technology players in a strategic and fast-growing market.”
A shared catalogue could boost geographic coverage, seasonality and depth of inventory across key verticals, from sea and mountain to white-water and aerial.
The move comes in a fast-growing segment: according to CBI, a Dutch government agency, Europe is among the leading regions for adventure tourism, while a 2026 study by the Adventure Travel Trade Association estimates that 73% of outbound international travellers across six major European markets are open to such experiences, for a market valued at $464 billion.
