Spotnana acquires TROOP to 'set a new standard' meetings and events offering

Firm makes first acquisition

Travel technology company Spotnana has completed the acquisition of meetings and events platform TROOP as it looks to bring corporate travel, meetings and events together on a single platform.

The deal will give Spotnana customers access to TROOP’s technology for planning meetings and group travel, while Spotnana said the acquisition will accelerate the development of technology for meetings and events.

Meetings and events can account for up to 40% of a company’s total travel spend, according to Spotnana, but the segment is often managed separately from traditional business travel.

The company cited Business Travel Show Europe research showing more than 60% of corporate travel and procurement professionals now have responsibility for both travel and meetings, up from 50% in 2025.

Steve Singh, chief executive officer of Spotnana, said the market was increasingly moving towards a single travel programme covering transient travel, meetings and events.

“Spotnana has delivered an enterprise-grade solution for global transient travel, and TROOP has created an advanced solution for meetings and events built on Spotnana’s open APIs,” he said.

TROOP’s platform allows companies to identify meeting locations, invite attendees to arrange travel, manage RSVPs, communicate agendas and track budgets.

Spotnana’s technology adds travel booking and servicing, traveller profiles, policy management, negotiated rates, preferred suppliers and payments.

The companies said the combination will provide customers with a "unified view" of spend across their travel programmes, alongside direct content integrations, travel management tools and integrations with HR, expense and duty-of-care systems.

TROOP will continue to be available as a standalone product or as part of Spotnana’s wider suite. It will also be distributed through Spotnana’s TMC channel partners.

TROOP chief executive and co-founder, Dennis Vilovic, said the acquisition would allow the company to “set a new standard for meeting and event travel”.

The acquisition comes as corporate travel programmes increasingly look to bring traditionally separate areas of travel spend under a single technology and management framework.
