FREENOW adds in-app car rentals with Meili technology

Now live in 9 European markets

Europe's mobility super app FREENOW has announced the launch of a new car rental feature, through its partnership with travel technology platform Meili.

It's now available in the app for users across all nine of its European markets, including the UK.

The new car rental feature integrates Meili's solution to provide users with direct access to a fleet of vehicles from renowned car rental providers, including Avis, Hertz, and Europcar directly through the FREENOW app.

FREENOW's new car rental service focuses on worldwide station-based pickup and drop-off.

This launch follows FREENOW's recent integration of public transport in Germany, so to combine all relevant mobility offerings in one intuitive app.

Car rentals will have a separate tile on the app’s homescreen, where users will be able to choose location, date and further reservation details.

Meili CEO Mike McGearty, said: "We are thrilled to join forces with FREENOW to offer users an unparalleled travel experience.

"Meili's technology is designed to elevate the convenience and choices available to FREENOW customers, ensuring they have direct access to high quality, globally recognised car rental brands.

"This partnership reinforces our commitment to delivering seamless and innovative solutions that empower users in their travel journey. It aligns perfectly with our vision of providing integrated solutions that cater to the evolving needs of modern travellers."

David Koral, director of partnerships, added; "Meili's technology aligns perfectly with our commitment to providing comprehensive mobility solutions to our users.

"This partnership allows us to enhance our customer offering, ensuring customers have direct access to premium brands and the best loyalty programs available in the market.

"The technical integration was super simple, thanks to Meili's leading-edge technology, making the process seamless for our teams and ensuring a swift implementation."
