The AI engine behind the European package holidays has also surpasses 10 million users
WIZZ Holidays platform provider Tryp.com bags £1.6M in investment
Copenhagen-founded AI platform for multimodal packaging technology Tryp.com has closed a €1.9 million (£1.6 million) funding round.
Point Capital Partners led the round, with Iberis Capital and angel investors participating which has taken the total funds raised so far at €5.9 million (just over £5 million).
The funding for Tryp.com, which sells around 14,000 tickets a month across flights, trains, buses and ferries, will be used to bring the platform to more travel brands, launch experiences and activity-led trips before the end of 2026, and prepare expansion into Asia and the Americas.
"Airlines already have the flights and the customers. What they lack is technology that turns one ticket into a complete trip, built in seconds," said André Rangel de Sousa, co-founder and CEO, Tryp.com.
"That is what we build. WIZZ Holidays shows our engine working at airline scale, and this round lets us bring it to more partners while our own platform keeps growing past 10 million users."
Pedro Ceia, Investment Manager, Point Capital Partners, said: "Tryp.com carves a unique niche at the intersection of travel search and booking, with a focus on flexible, budget-conscious travellers seeking complex, multi-stop journeys.
"With over 10 million users, its technology has already secured a strategic partnership with Wizz Air, a collaboration set to accelerate its growth. The company is led by an A-player founding team that has consistently executed on its vision."
João Henriques, Partner, Iberis Capital, added: “We led the previous round of funding for Tryp.com because this team builds complex travel technology in a very capital-efficient way.
"Since then, the company has demonstrated the ability to deliver commercially: it has more than tripled its user base and become the technology partner for a major European airline’s holiday platform. Investing again was an easy decision.”
Tryp.com's technology now powers WIZZ Holidays, the carrier Wizz Air's holiday platform. It builds the multi-city and multimodal itineraries, and its licensed Portuguese agency, Tryp.com Lda, sells and operates the packages.
Tryp.com has leveraged AI in its technology since the start and now half of its bookings come from travellers who never typed a search and bought straight from its recommendations.
After just four interactions, the firm said its personalisation model almost triples the click rate on suggested trips.
Recent releases from the tech provider include personalised trip suggestions and airport, station and hotel transfers that connect every leg.
The company's sales which are up fourfold and revenue more than tripled this year, has said before the end of 2026 it will launch experiences and trips built around activities - the traveller picks what they want to do, and the engine builds the journey around it.
On its own consumer platform, it has already passed 10 million users since launch and now reaches about 1 million users a month.
