Traveltek ushers in new era under Cressida Sergent as CEO

Sergent promoted to role, taking over from current CEO, Mal Barritt

Travel technology firm and cruise tech specialist, Traveltek, part of the Juniper Group, has announced that current chief commercial officer Cressida Sergeant will takeover as CEO, effective 1 October 2026

Outgoing CEO, Barritt, will remain in an advisory capacity until the end of November 2026 to support a smooth transition, after seven years with the business.

Sergent, who has spent eight years at Traveltek, most recently as Chief Commercial Officer, where she drove its North American growth, has been promoted to the new position based on the strength of the team she has built and the "growth trajectory she has already helped deliver".

She said: "I am incredibly proud to take on the role of CEO and to lead Traveltek into its next chapter. I've really enjoyed working alongside Mal for the last seven years, and I'm incredibly proud of what this team has achieved - Traveltek is a great blend of people, passion and innovation.

"My priority for the next chapter is to drive customer efficiency, by deepening connectivity for our customers and supplier partnerships. 

"There is a significant opportunity for our customers through the greater benefits that come from being part of the Juniper Group ecosystem," she said.

"Technology needs to provide more education and transparency to the travel industry, and I know our team and our customers have a fantastic future ahead."

Under Barritt's leadership the business grew into a strong, growing and profitable technology business, culminating in its acquisition by Juniper Travel Group in October 2024, that spotted the success of the company.

Barritt said: "After more than seven years, I feel the time is right for me to take on a new challenge. Traveltek has been a huge part of my life, and I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together as a team. 

"We have navigated some very difficult times, built a great business and created a fantastic group of people.

"I am genuinely sad to leave, but I do so with enormous pride in what we have accomplished and complete confidence in Traveltek's future. Most importantly, I am delighted to be handing the business to Cress," he added.
