82% of bookings via NDC Direct Connect
Nearly 82% of bookings across participating carriers are now powered by NDC Direct Connect via Accelya, more than double the industry average, according to myRiva. The business travel platform sees the figure as evidence of a progressive shift away from legacy, more static systems towards clearer, richer offers. Beyond the technical fluidity of this distribution model, myRiva also points to improved fare comparison, with each ticket showing included services more transparently before purchase.
Rapid uptake of direct airline connections
myRiva relies on the New Distribution Capability (NDC) standard in a direct-connect model with airlines. Accelya provides the tooling to create, manage and distribute enriched offers at scale. In this set-up, search, personalisation and trip management are brought together into a shorter journey, with content updated in real time. The experience is made smoother by limiting manual steps and giving carriers a more detailed presentation of their offers at the very moment travellers are comparing.
"We're at a turning point in how travel is distributed and experienced," said Michael Kubasik, myRiva President. "NDC allows us to move beyond static, outdated systems and deliver a more modern, connected experience for both airlines and travelers."
Founded in 2021, myRiva brings together former leaders from eBay, American Express, Expedia, Microsoft and BCD. The company is working here with Accelya, a software provider that says it serves more than 200 airline customers. Its technology group says it processes more than 30 billion unique offers per day, settles over US$100 billion a year and accounts for more than 50% of global NDC volumes.
