More than 3,000 agents have signed up to Expedia.co.uk’s affiliate programme TAAP since it launched in October 2008.

Through TAAP, agents are provided with direct access to the Expedia inventory. They have access to flights, hotel accommodation and car hire combinations – as well as destination services such as tickets for local transport systems, tourist attractions and excursions.

Long-haul hotels and e-packages are the most popular products, with the US being the most-booked destination, said the company.

Diego Pedrani, director of travel agent distribution for Expedia, said: “The TAAP programme continues to grow in popularity.  UK travel agents are really embracing the initiative, with a very high purchase frequency. We’re also finding that our special TAAP support to agencies is highly appreciated.”

Roy Collett, director of Colletts Travel in London,  said: “We realise the benefits of working with Expedia, who have exceptional offers in the upmarket leisure sector  while also enabling us to book excellent rates on all destinations. This is great news for us because we really benefit from our partnership with them.”

Over the last year, Expedia has extended the number of hotels accessible through the site to over 127,000 and introduced new tools and features such as:

• The LGBT filter – to help travellers and agents to find hotels as per individual preferences
• The Green hotels filter – for travellers keen to ensure their trip is environmentally responsible
