Operators can search, price and manage cruise in-platform
intuitive has introduced cruise capability within iVector, its reservation platform used by tour operators and online travel agencies to run their operations. Powered by Widgety’s API, the addition brings live cruise content and pricing straight into iVector. The company presents the module as a way to cut the rekeying that has traditionally accompanied cruise sales and, in time, improve conversions.
The module aggregates, via Widgety, live availability, full itineraries, ship and cabin information and pricing. Sellers can create a cruise-only booking or add cruise into an itinerary alongside other components such as flights, hotels, villas, transfers, car hire, excursions and ancillaries. The integration sits within iVector’s existing processes so that searching, pricing and managing cruise follow the same workflow as the rest of the product portfolio.
Cruise in the same workflow as other products
According to intuitive, the development answers direct customer feedback and wider market expectations. Bringing cruise into the same environment as other products is intended to strip out complexity for in-house teams, who gain a single platform to quote, sell and administer the full offer. The approach builds on iVector’s open, API‑first architecture, designed for flexibility and extensibility. The supplier cites more than 200 third‑party supply integrations already in place to avoid the fragmentation that comes with separate, disconnected systems, while the partnership with Widgety adds dedicated depth of cruise content.
"We built this in direct response to customer and market feedback. By bringing cruise into the same workflow Tour Operators and OTAs already use for the rest of their product portfolio, we're removing the complexity and giving our customers a single platform to quote, sell and manage it all" said Andy Keeley, Commercial Director at intuitive. "Combining iVector with Widgety's cruise content means our customers have everything they need to quote, respond faster and operate cruise more efficiently."
For tour operators and OTAs, cruise remains an information‑intensive product that is often managed outside the core system. intuitive believes the integration will help teams respond faster to enquiries and operate cruise more efficiently. It could also make it easier to build dynamic packages that include a cruise, with no break between design, quoting and booking.
