Five of the top ten sign on
DirectBooker is entering the LLM space with substance, announcing supply agreements with five of the world’s ten largest hotel groups, including BWH Hotels and Radisson Hotel Group, alongside a live app in ChatGPT and a connector on Claude. The aim is to route real‑time hotel data on rates, availability and inventory into those assistants. The company says the coverage spans brands representing more than 250 million loyalty programme members, surfacing offers in conversational interfaces that then lead to hotels’ official channels.
By structuring the data around the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the set‑up exposes up‑to‑date information on rooms, availability and commercial terms to conversational assistants, before redirecting users to the hotel’s official website to complete the booking. The network is not limited to major chains. DirectBooker also works with Cendyn, eviivo, Mirai, SiteMinder and Roiback, which collectively represent tens of thousands of independent, boutique and small‑group hotels.
‘Being where our customers are’
The economics are significant for hoteliers, who pay commission on every transaction via an OTA — a distribution channel many cannot ignore. “For twenty years, hotels have been on the defensive, watching OTAs take the top‑of‑funnel customer and charge 15–25% for the privilege,” said Sanjay Vakil, chief executive and co‑founder of DirectBooker. “AI search gives the industry a rare chance to reset that dynamic — and to give travelers what they've always wanted: Better perks, better service, and more flexibility, often with the best pricing.” DirectBooker’s promise is to help hotels regain visibility, better showcase their loyalty benefits and reclaim the customer relationship at a decisive point in the journey.
“More travelers are using AI every day to plan their next trip, and at BWH® Hotels, we're committed to meeting our guests where they are,” said Bill Ryan, chief technology officer at BWH Hotels. “Booking direct delivers the greatest value to our guests — access to the best available rates across our 4,000 hotels, along with the richest, most accurate information about our properties and the neighborhoods around them.”
