eviivo centralises access control in its PMS

Automated check-in, fewer manual tasks

Software provider eviivo has added Device Manager to its eviivo Suite PMS, linking smart-lock control to the tools property managers already use for bookings, payments and distribution. The move aims to smooth workflows that had become cumbersome due to a proliferation of manufacturer apps, manual access-code creation and a frequent disconnect between check-in and the rest of the guest journey.

With Device Manager, once a lock is mapped to a room, apartment or unit, the system automatically generates a unique access code for each confirmed booking. The code remains valid for the duration of the stay and can be adjusted for early arrivals or late departures. Delivery can then be automated at different stages of the booking journey via Guest Manager, eviivo’s communications module.

The platform also enables technical oversight. A central dashboard surfaces lock status, battery levels, connectivity and device mapping. Teams can act remotely to retrieve a code or unlock a door if needed. Differentiated access levels can be assigned to housekeeping or maintenance teams, giving the tool a broader remit than a simple self check-in system.

‘A smoother, more reliable guest experience’

By connecting locks directly to the PMS, the company says it is addressing demand for a seamless guest journey, which it views as being as important as internal automation — particularly for small multi-site portfolios that often lack the time and resources to juggle multiple interfaces.

“Access management has long been fragmented, with hospitality operators juggling separate apps and manually sending codes and check-in instructions,” said Adam Buckmaster, Director of Product Marketing and Strategic Solutions at eviivo. “With Device Manager, we’re bringing smart lock control directly into eviivo Suite so property managers can automate access, monitor every door, and manage guest arrivals from a single place. The result is faster check-in, less manual work and a smoother, more reliable experience for guests at scale.”

The module targets independent operators as well as businesses managing multiple properties. eviivo highlights compatibility with hundreds of smart lock models, and the ability to accept key cards and mobile keys via third‑party integrations. The roadmap already includes other connected devices, such as thermostats.
