A group of Thomas Cook airlines are to become the first leisure carriers to adopt Amadeus’s Altéa solutions.

A group of Thomas Cook airlines are to become the first leisure carriers to adopt Amadeus’s Altéa solutions.

Four of Thomas Cook group airlines based in the UK, Germany, Scandinavia and Belgium are adopting the Altéa suite as a single platform to manage bookings, inventory and departure control.

By unifying its IT systems, the Cook carriers will be able to implement a single consolidated customer touch point with comprehensive real-time information.

Cook and Amadeus have also renewed a long-term distribution agreement for tour operations across Europe, which will support travel agencies’ distribution of ancillary services.

Amadeus aims to support the group in providing a better service to its customers, through personalised offers with pro-active and consistent communications across multiple channels.

A key component of the technology offer is the use of dynamic special service request (SSR) pricing. This will allow Cook group airlines to adjust the price of their ancillary offerings based on a range of real-time information related to passengers and to demand.

Cook’s chief air travel officer, Christoph Debus, said: “The solution developed by Amadeus enables us to harmonise our multi-channel distribution strategy.

“Through a single inventory and distribution system, we are now in a position to reach out to tour operators and retail partners while servicing our own direct sales channels.

“In addition, connecting to Amadeus’ travel agency distribution network will help us to significantly to grow both volume and yield.

“Amadeus’ Altéa suite will also enable us to provide the most relevant and personalised offers to all our customers”.
