Digital travel companion Musement has launched a new personal concierge app that provides travellers with a curated list of in-destination activities.

The app claims to be the antidote to supermarket-style shopping by honing down to between three and five of the best recommendations for the user.

It says this will reduce the amount of time and hassle customers experience when trying to find the perfect experience from endless lists.

The app has been listed by Apple as one of the ‘Best Apps to Start 2016’ in 21 countries in its sector – travel activities – and is among the most downloaded travel app in six countries.

As well as the machine-driven recommendation engine, Musement also offers real-time interaction with hotel concierges who can attend to individual needs.

Customers can secure a booking on a single platform for activities like sporting events, concerts and exhibitions, negating the need to search across multiple sites.

Providers of tours and activities are able to use a self-service, editorially controlled booking platform on which to promote their product and manage their listings.

API technology allows organisers to accept instant bookings on site, online via affiliates, widgets and co-branded promotions.

There is also an offline front desk booking intranet for hotels and travel agencies to seamlessly add trips and in-destination activities to their customers itineraries.
