Sporting tickets specialist Sports Events 365 has launched new pricing technology aimed at airlines and hotels to help them optimize sales linked to games.

The firm, which will exhibit at the Travel Technology Europe trade show later this month, says the technology will allow partners to plan their strategies around popular sporting events.

The new B2B service, specifically designed for hotels and airlines, enables them to manage prices for room nights or flights based on specialized sporting timetables.

The information is geared towards revenue managers of hotels in Western Europe and North America, and airlines flying to those destinations, where sport tourism is one of the fastest growing segments of the travel industry, said Sports Events 365.

Sefi Donner, founder and chief executive, said: “Once they learn to use the information in our database and implement it they benefit twice.

“First, they get an early warning system that helps them spot key dates in the sporting calendar which will boost demand. Second, they get a tool that enables them to offer effective cross-selling.”

Donner added: “Hotels and flights are everywhere online these days and it is hard to shine. Sports tickets are much harder to find, so if you sell a room with an entrance ticket to a sporting event, for example, you have a better chance to stand out.

“You will also  have fewer cancellations and will offer something quite special while not having to settle for lower pricing for your own basic product.”

Sports Events 365’s existing range of technologies includes web tools ranging from API/XML, RSS, CSVs to white labels, that allow travel-related companies to sell tickets to sporting events on their own websites either directly or through Sports Events 365’s solutions.

The new service has been designed to help the supplier strike new partnerships with hoteliers and airlines.

Sports Events 365 already works with Sabre, travel technology companies such as Travel Compositor and Travel Connection Technology, networks such as Advantage and Lufthansa City Center and thousands of tour operators and travel agencies.

Sports Events 365 will be on stand TT126 at Travel Technology Europe at Olympia exhibition center in London on February 21-22.
