Global pet-sitting platform TrustedHousesitters reveals plans to reduce carbon

News comes as 1.8 million pet sits have been faciliated

Pet sitting and travel solution TrustedHousesitters has revealed pets on its platform were cared for across 121 countries in 2023, enabling "slow and low-cost" travel to pet sitters across the globe. 

Last year, more than 1.8 million nights of pet sitting took place thanks to its travel offering, with more than 79,000 pets welcomed to the platform in 2023.

As part of its success, it has revealed its first-ever impact report as the company strides towards its sustainability, growth and employability targets. 

The TrustedHousesitters 2023 Impact Report detailed how TrustedHousesitters continues to invest in its three core pillars: people, pets, and the planet. 

It also showed its workforce remains a key investment focus, alongside community and of course, pets.

“Compiling our first impact report has been a perfect opportunity to showcase the progress TrustedHousesitters has made in terms of sustainability, growth and community,” said Mathew Prior, CEO of TrustedHousesitters.

“We are proud to have added more than 79,000 pets to our ever-growing community in 2023, which were cared for in 121 countries across the world. 

"In turn, this opened more doors for travel for our incredible sitters, who are key in us meeting our 2024 pledge: to help more pets stay happy and healthy.”

The team have also submitted a B Corp impact assessment, edging the business closer to achieving B Corp status as well as volunteered for more than 300 hours and donated over £52,000 to charities.

It has launched a company-wide environmental training and a dedicated Climate Steering Group.
