EBookers president Nigel Pocklington is to head TravelSupermarket as managing director.

He succeeds the UK holiday price comparison website’s previous boss Vic Darvey, who moved within the MoneySuperMarket group to become managing director of the MoneySuperMarket brand.

TravelSupermarket has recently revamped its website and launched its own app.

Pocklington will lead all aspects of the TravelSupermarket business, reporting to Moneysupermarket.com Group chief executive Peter Plumb.

“It’s great to have Nigel on board,” Plumb said. “He has a wealth of experience in growing online brands, senior travel industry experience and a real focus on customers.

“Having invested in an innovative new technology platform, I look forward to working with him and the team to help even more families save money on their all-important holidays in the years ahead.”

Pocklington said: “TravelSupermarket is a great brand and a pioneer of price comparison for summer holidays. I’m looking forward to working with the team to build new tools that help people save money on their travel.”
