A new augmented reality app aims to bring Thomas Cook’s Sentido hotels to life for customers to complement the operator’s 2017 brochures.

The app provides users with an enhanced digital research tool to experience 20 of its own-brand hotels through interactive tours – with others to follow.

Features include filmed footage of each hotel, showcasing bars, restaurants, room categories, location and views, pool, beach, wellness and gym facilities.

Once the app has been installed on smartphone devices, consumers can scan a tagged image in both print and online brochures to access extra content.

Thomas Cook UK and Ireland managing director, Chris Mottershead, said: “We have developed our brochures with this additional functionality to better serve our customers and showcase the Sentido hotels we have within our portfolio before they book.

“It’s important that we meet the needs of our customers and by developing the information we have available and the accessibility to it, we can certainly guarantee greater satisfaction.

“In the long term, we’re hoping to be able to introduce the app across our other brands including smartline, SunConnect, Sunprime and Sunwing, so that all of our customers can benefit from this new experience.”
