Travel Technology Europe trade show postponed to June 2021

A hybrid online event will be run in the traditional February time slot of the annual London exhibition

Annual trade show Travel Technology Europe and sister show The Business Travel Show have been postponed in 2021 to June.

The events, which will change location to London’s Excel exhibition centre next year from Olympia, will operate a “hybrid” virtual show in their traditional February time slot.

Organisers said the decision to postpone the in-person events to June 22-23 had been taken “after much thought and discussion with the industry, our sponsors, and partners”.

In a statement it said: “The travel industry has been one of the worst affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and as we start the road back to recovery we feel it is the right decision to support our industry and give the market much needed time to bounce back.”

David Chapple, managing director of Northstar Travel Group UK, said: “We have not made the decision the move the show back lightly; but we felt it was the best choice for our supporters, sponsors and buyers.

“The new June date line will give the market time to recover, and we’re very confident that it will.

“We want to make sure that we are delivering innovation from the content buyers take part in to the suppliers they meet.

“Adding the hybrid element to Travel Technology Europe is something we’re very excited about as it will allow buyers who are unable to attend the live event to conduct meetings with suppliers and take part in the education sessions.

“Ensuring that we keep true to our mission of being a truly international event.”
