Travelport recruits former BA IT head as chief architect

Former British Airways head of IT delivery Mike Croucher is joining Travelport as chief architect.


He will have overall responsibility for the delivery of the travel technology firm’s global IT architecture function, ensuring it is positioned to support the company’s strategic business goals.


Croucher will lead a team which will also explore, assess and where relevant embrace emerging and new technology which will accelerate the strategic goals of the Travelport business, the company said.


He spent some of his early career as an architect of the Galileo GDS and went onto become director of applications development at the predecessor company of Travelport.


Travelport president and CEo Gordon Wilson said: “I am delighted to have an executive of the calibre of Mike join our team.


“He is that rare combination of technology vision married to execution which makes the difference in a business with the considerable technical footprint of Travelport.


“He also brings a breadth of relevant experience to help accelerate the growth of our travel commerce platform and our technical services businesses.”
