Transport on demand technology provider for business, Cabfind.com, has been shortlisted in regional business awards in the investment of the year category.

The investment of the year award recognises organisations that have made a significant and beneficial investment within Wirral in 2015.

The company is up for the prize against three other finalists in the 10th Wirral Business Awards being held on September 16.

Cabfind was acquired by global transport business Transdev last year, allowing the company to implement a multimillion-pound investment into developing technological innovations.

The investment has already had a direct impact on job creation in Wirral, seeing a 15% growth in the staff numbers, attracting tech and programming talent to the region.

Managing director Chris Jordan said: “2015 was a transformative year.

“We were wholly acquired by one of the world’s largest transport operators, Transdev. The investment and support received by our parent company has allowed Cabfind.com to realise its accelerated growth potential and become involved in much wider tender opportunities. This has had a direct impact on job creation in Wirral.

“The Transdev deal also attracted further investment with a Regional Growth Fund grant to create an in house software development centre and a Business Growth Grant from Wirral Council to assist with relocation to new premises, further reinforcing our dedication to business in Wirral.”
