Former Amadeus executive Gilles Mascaras has been named as vice president, channel strategy and pricing at rival Travelport.
He will be responsible for pinpointing the most compelling growth opportunities for Travelport GDS products and services, according to the company.
Mascaras, who joined Travelport in November, previously headed the global online travel agencies and large leisure travel agents group for Amadeus, where he worked for 19 years.
He held a number of management positions during this time in product and multinational sales, including roles in the airline division, as head of e-commerce and more recently as account director for one of the major airline groups.
Travelport chief marketing officer Gillian Gibson said: “Gilles has a strong technology and business background with well-developed expertise combining strategy, sales leadership, business development and product management.
“His experience and knowledge will be a great asset to the team and we are delighted to have him on board.”
