TripIt enhances app to support TMCs

Travel-organising app TripIt has created a version to support travel management companies.

Travel-organising app TripIt has created a version to support travel management companies.

The solution allows business travellers to reach their TMC directly when on the move, by using any mobile device to change their plans or get help during their trip.

Adelman Travel, Christopherson Business Travel, FCm Travel Solutions, FROSCH, Travel Incorporated and World Travel Service are launch partners.

Travellers forward their travel confirmation emails to plans@tripit.com. If their travel was booked through a participating TMC, that company’s contact details and logo will be available alongside their travel plans within the TripIt app.

If the traveller has the upgraded TripIt Pro, their flight alerts for delays, cancellations and more will feature the TMC and point them to the TripIt app where they can call their TMC directly.

Jugdeep Bal, senior director of business development for TripIt parent Concur, said: “We’re always looking for ways to make life easier for travellers, and as business travellers ourselves, we know that it isn’t always easy to determine who you should contact if you need to make changes to your travel plans.

“If you’re on a business trip and need to make a sudden change to your travel plans, the last thing you want to do is stop and search for your TMC’s contact information.

“Now, if your TMC is part of the programme, you’ll be able to call your TMC right from the TripIt app – saving you valuable time that could end up being the difference between whether you make it home, or to your next meeting, on time.”

Bal added: “This programme provides a foundation for a mutually beneficial long-term relationship for TripIt, TMCs and travellers.

“TMCs stay connected to their customers after they book; travellers have a quick and easy way to get in touch with their TMC anytime, on any device; and TripIt has the opportunity to make life easier for more travellers.”
