Expedia and GOPARR Digital lined up for Open Destinations’ London Tech Week event

Travel technology systems provider Open Destinations and Travolution have joined forces again to run a second annual London Technology Week travel event.

Travel technology systems provider Open Destinations and Travolution have joined forces again to run a second annual London Technology Week travel event.


This year the event, entitled Travel Technology: Disruptions in the Supply Chain, will be hosted by new sponsor Ve Interactive.


It will take place on the evening of June 17 from 6pm and is free to attend.


The event will bring together industry leaders and the start-up community to join in a panel discussion about new entrants in the travel industry supply chain.


It will also feature presentations from the hotel and tour operating sectors, including Andreas Nau, Expedia’s managing director for central Europe.


The second speaker delegates will hear from is Brian Reeves, chief executive and founder of GOPPAR Digital. He is a serial entrepreneur, tech investor and winner of four consecutive Deloitte Fast 50 Tech awards.


He is founder of Avvio, developers of next generation booking engine technology for hotels and chief executive of GOPPAR Digital which specialises in digital marketing and distribution for hotels.


Kevin O’Sullivan, chief executive of Open Destinations, said: “The UK is a hub for travel technology. We’ve grown our business in the worldwide marketplace and we’ve seen a rise of over 53% in international sales in the past two years.”

“Well, this year that’s even more the case as it has seen the opening of London & Partners’ TravelTech Lab in its offices next to City Hall. This initiative is part of the Mayor of London’s intention to make the capital the world’s hub for travel technology, an ambition we at Travolution wholeheartedly support.”


The first London Tech Week in 2014 saw over 200 events take place involving over 40,000 people from 40 countries. One of its founding partners in London & Partners, the mayor’s official promotional company for the capital.
