Sunspot Tours is the first UK customer to start using a pre-computed air fare shopping and export solution supplied by Vayant Travel Technologies.

The specialist operator will use results from Vayant’s Pricing Cache to support its ‘value added extras’ package model, which offers customers flexibility in choice of holiday duration and departure airport.

Sunspot gains the ability to display available prices on banners, deal lists, special offers and email offers. Content includes published fares, special rates from partner airlines and some low cost carrier fares.

Sunspot can use the Pricing Cache administration portal to modify the cache and update the frequency of content updates.

It also helps reduce IT and distribution costs by enabling Sunspot to build, export and update air fare content without hitting GDSs.

Online operations director Emma Bugeja said: “We chose Vayant because it met our requirements to be able to offer our clients a broad range of prices on our website at speed, therefore giving greater flexibility and choice.

“It has also allowed us to provide holidays to meta-search sites which have strict policies relating to accuracy and speed all the whilst ensuring our look-to-book ratios are not exceeded.”

Vayant business development and product marketing vice-president Boyan Manev said: “Pricing Cache makes it easy and economical for travel sellers to offer customers more choice and freedom.

“Today’s traveller wants things their way – and Pricing Cache means responsive, customer-focused travel sellers like Sunspot Tours can give them what they want.”
