RoomsXML.com launches B2B mobile interface for travel agents

Accommodation wholesaler RoomsXML has launched a mobile interface for travel agents.

Accommodation wholesaler RoomsXML has launched a mobile interface for travel agents.

The global hotels supplier claims the product is a first in the sector that will allow agents to exploit the growing influence of mobile as a channel.

It offers a dedicated interface for smartphones that gives agents the ability to book hotels in real-time and at net rates.

Prakash Bang, managing director of RoomsXML, said the new functionality has been well-received by agents.

Bang said: “Everybody thinks of travellers who are on the go. There are zillions of applications for them. But what about their travel agents? Why shouldn’t there be a facility that makes life a little easier for the travel agent?”

RoomsXML was founded in 2003 and has offices in the US, Australia, Ukraine, Dubai and India.

As well as the mobile solution, the firm offers access to properties via a direct contracting system drawing content from multiple suppliers.

It also offers a 24/7 online CRM product which agents can use to allow their customers to make extra or special requests.

RoomsXML was recently endorsed by the international certification body ISO, having worked with UK-based BM TRADA to gain the accolade.
