Concur announces three year SilverRail tie-up

Travel and expense management specialist Concur has agreed a new three year partnership with SilverRail.

Travel and expense management specialist Concur has agreed a new three year partnership with SilverRail.

Over the coming months, using SilverRail’s API technology, Concur will be able to connect its corporate travel customers to European rail content across multiple markets.

SilverRail’s SilverCore platform provides a “simple, cost-effective” way to implement a complete rail book and ticketing solution.

Concur’s director of supplier services, Michael Kantor, said: “Rail is a key part of European travel, and so expansion into this market is a vital part of our global rail strategy, ensuring we are able to deliver all possible travel options to our business travellers.”

Cameron Jones, chief commercial officer at SilverRail, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Concur, and helping them to become a truly global business.

“SilverRail is currently connected a number of markets globally, with an appetite for more European rail content, this aligns well with Concur’s current focus and strategy; creating a great alliance between SilverRail and the world’s fastest growing online booking tool.”

Concur has also announced a new TripLink partnership with American Airlines, to enable mutual customers to capture business travel bookings being made outside of traditional channels, including those bookings made on AA.com.

Tim MacDonald, executive vice president of travel for Concur, said: “Travel managers are caught in the proverbial middle seat when it comes to visibility into bookings.

“On one hand they are working to increase savings for the company and keep track of employees’ location to ensure their safety, while on the other hand, business travellers sometimes need to book outside the programme.

“Concur TripLink solves that specific problem by connecting every part of the travel ecosystem so managers can have more control and visibility, while giving travellers more choices.”

Global Concur TripLink partners include AccorHotels, Airbnb, Avis, Booking.com and Lufthansa.
