ArrivalGuides and Ctrip agree content deal as Chinese OTA eyes overseas expansion

Chinese travel giant Ctrip has struck a deal with destination guide content provider ArrivalGuides to make tourist information available to its users.

Chinese travel giant Ctrip has struck a deal with destination guide content provider ArrivalGuides to make tourist information available to its users.

This partnership will make information for 47,000 points of interest from ArrivalGuides’ portfolio of over 550 destinations available to Ctrip users.

The Chinese OTA, which has 250 million registered users, is eyeing international expansion and expects the ArrivalGuides content to help speed up that process.

Maxwell Sun, head of marketing for Ctrip’s international business unit, said: “This will help us rapidly expand, and ensure the quality and relevance, of our content offerings.”

Magnus Aideborn, chief executive of ArrivalGuides, said: “We are thrilled that the biggest OTA in China has chosen ArrivalGuides as the newest partner to help expand their global presence.

“Through this partnership, Ctrip will supply their members with our authentic destination content, input directly by the Tourism Boards and destination experts.”
