The UK-based website claims to offer flights from more than 600 airlines internationally and various ways to pay including e-wallets, financing options and cryptocurrencies.

In addition to its growth in revenue, Alternative Airlines’ reported total booking volumes increase by 91% in 2019.

The site reports the US accounts for a large amount of its recent success, with revenue in the US alone increasing by 185% from £3.49 million in 2018 to £9.96 in 2019.

US sales accounted for 54% of Alternative Airlines’ overall business, reportedly equalling the company’s entire revenue from 2018.

The airline also saw progress in markets outside of the US including significant revenue growth in Germany (+129%), UAE (+78%), Canada (+71%) and the UK (+63%).

Sam Argyle, managing director of Alternative Airlines, said: “We’re very proud of our continued success with the business growing from £3 million to £19 million revenue in 3 years.”

The company aims to be a £100 million company by 2023.

“Our continued focus on providing an innovative flight-booking platform for customers globally is paying off and the figures coming out of the US are simply outstanding,” added Argyle.
