Holidays letting specialist Sykes Holiday Cottages will launch its biggest ever TV advertising campaign this Christmas.

The 30-second advert, that will debut on Boxing Day on Channel 4, focuses on the important moments of breaks away.

The TV ad forms part of a wider integrated marketing campaign including radio, print, PR and social media activity.

Sykes has invested £1.4 million in the campaign, which will run to September 2020, including filming in various locations throughout North Wales.

Using the tagline “this is your time”, the advert highlights different holiday experiences while promoting the broad range of staycations available through Sykes.

It worked with Hurricane Media and Media Agency Group (MAG) to deliver the creative and broadcast strategy.

James Shaw, chief marketing officer of Sykes Holiday Cottages, said: “The concept is all about showing how Sykes properties can help guests make memories with the people that matter most.

“We chose to film in North Wales so we could capture the sheer breadth of staycations on offer – whether that’s beach breaks, relaxing forest getaways or adrenaline-fuelled adventures.

“This year’s peaks advert is the most cinematic we’ve worked on and the campaign represents our biggest marketing investment to date.”

Sykes said it has enjoyed a record year in 2019 with bookings up 26% year-on-year and sales and profits rising to £68million and £20million, respectively.

It currently employs more than 600 people across 12 UK offices and has taken 1.6 million travellers on holiday in 2019.
