Technology provider Dolphin Dynamics has acquired the assets of travel agency software solution Travelwire from Travelport.

The company will eventually merge Travelwire and Dolphin office products to better serve their travel sector customers.

The new joint offering will incorporate Dolphin’s integrated products spanning CRM, reservations, product management and online distribution.

The Travelwire Nordics-based team will also join the company to continue delivering local support to the Nordics market.

This will help expand Dolphin’s presence in the market and give existing Travelwire customers continuity.

The transaction is due to be completed in September 2019.

Chuck Richardson, Dolphin Dynamics managing director, said: “Acquiring the Travelwire assets will allow us to fast track our strategic plan to grow our Nordics business.

“The highly skilled and experienced Travelwire team joining Dolphin will accelerate our product development, enabling us to provide even more competitive advantages to our customers in all markets. We look forward to welcoming the Travelwire team and customers on board in September!”

Dolphin Dynamics first product was released in 1996 and has since installed software at over 850 client sites, totalling 13,000 users in 26 countries worldwide.

The Dolphin suite is designed to streamline operations and increase sales for tour operators, leisure agencies, travel management companies, consolidators and call centres.
