Netflights and Global Connect agree first travel partnership for Wi-Fi access

First ever travel partnership for hotspot provider

Flight search and comparison site Netflights is to offer customers Wi-Fi hotspot access through a first ever travel partnership with Global Connect.

Global Connect provides access to over 60m hi-speed Wi-Fi  hotspots in more than 180 countries worldwide.

It claims to be the largest international access provider of secure Wi-Fi hotspots worldwide and users incur no additional registration or costs.

Hotspots in the network include more than 800 train services, 780 airports, 85,000 hotel and convention venues, and nearly 3,000 aircraft operated by the world’s top carriers.

Netflights will offer its customers access to high-speed data on up to two devices for £9.99 per month once they’ve registered.

Managing director, Andrew Shelton, said: “We’re here to make our customers lives easier.

“Imagine being overseas when your travel plans change unexpectedly, and you want to use Netflights to find an alternative.

“If you’ve downloaded the Global Connect Wi-Fi app and registered, this partnership means you’ll be able to jump straight on to the nearest Wi-Fi and start searching, then sit back and work, browse or start planning your next trip without worrying about additional costs, burning through your own data allowance, wrestling with data restrictions or the hassle of filling in forms.

“We’re confident our customers will love it, and are proud to be Global Connect Wi-Fi’s inaugural partner in the travel industry.”

Global Connect Wi-Fi was founded by Jordan Hurley who became frustrated about not being able to find reliable and affordable Wi-Fi when travelling.

He said: “We’re really pleased to launch in to the travel industry with Netflights. We know their frequent flying customers will appreciate not having to worry about data use overseas and be reassured that, if they need it, the internet is right there – wherever they are.”
