Hong Kong start-up Tink Labs has appointed former Expedia regional marketing chief Andrew Warner as chief marketing officer.

Warner joins Tink Labs from Monster Worldwide where he held the position of executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.

Previously he held senior positions at major organisations including Microsoft, BBC, Sony, LG and Expedia where he led the regional marketing team for Europe Middle East and Africa.

At Expedia, Warner was instrumental in the revitalisation of the brand in Europe, running campaigns that won numerous global awards including several Cannes Lions for creativity, the Cannes Lions for Effectiveness and a Gold Effie for marketing effectiveness.

Warner is a Fellow of The Marketing Society and on the advisory boards of The CMO Council, CMO Benchmarking Network and the Marketing 2020 Initiative.

He was listed in The Marketing Power 100 and Marketing Week Vision 100 and he was also named one of the ten most influential marketers to follow by LinkedIn.

Warner said: “I’m excited to be re-entering the travel and hospitality industry with one of the most exciting companies in the category.

“It’s a privilege to join Tink Labs as their first ever CMO and have the opportunity to build a new, global marketing team.

“I’ll be working across all the products in the Tink Labs portfolio, including handy, the complimentary smartphone, offered to hotel guests in over 1,000 major cities, across the globe.

“A key part of my mission will be to help drive business growth, through developing compelling new propositions, for travellers, hoteliers and tourism organisations.”

Warner, will join Tink Labs’ expanding leadership team, leading the global marketing initiatives for the company’s portfolio of products and offerings, including flagship product, handy, an Internet of Things solution for the hospitality sector.

Based in London, he will report directly to Terence Kwok, founder and chief executive of Tink Labs.

He said: “Andrew’s appointment as chief marketing officer, signifies an exciting new era for Tink Labs.

“I am looking forward to him bringing his wealth of experience and creativity to our global marketing initiatives.

“He shares our passion for revolutionising the travel ecosystem for hoteliers and consumers alike, and I know his role will be instrumental in contributing to our global business growth and expansion.”

Tink Labs’ mission is to build the world’s largest travel ecosystem, covering the entire travel journey from pre- to during and post-trip.

Handy is currently available in 82 countries around the world, covering approximately 650,000 hotel rooms, and helping millions of global travellers to stay connected.
