Ferry reservation and distribution technology provider Pharos Data has announced that ecommerce director Nick Belle will succeed Alan Warburton as managing director.

Belle has been with Pharos Data for 12 years. Warburton, who originally founded Pharos and led it over the last 25 years, has become executive chairman.

Prior to working at Pharos Data, Belle worked for P&O Ferries and before that he managed a number of large software development projects for ferry customers including P&O, Stena Line and Seeboard.

Warburton said: “We are really pleased to have made this appointment. Nick is an outstanding executive and has huge experience of both the ferry and the travel industries and is ideal for taking the company forward.”

Pharos was founded in 1992. It is headquartered in Reading and has offices in Frankfurt, Germany.

Its technology hub connects to more than 45 ferry operators throughout Europe, allowing resellers to trade through a commercially transparent interface while providing an important distribution channel to ferry companies.

Clients include Brittany Ferries, DFDS, Directferries.com and Thomas Cook.
