A new comparison site designed to cater for group travel needs has been launched.

Coachfinder.co.uk is aiming to attract customers attending sporting events, weddings, social trips, festivals, short-breaks to Europe and other group journeys.

The company has a network of more than 700 coach operators and says coach offers bespoke, door-to-door transport that air and train travel can’t match.

It also offers hotel bookings, ferry crossings and event tickets on its platform, which can process payments instantly through PayPal.

Users can search for coaches based on dates, passenger numbers, location/destination and vehicle specification. The website recommends coach for the journey with several alternative options which can be cheaper or have a higher spec.

The website has been launched with the backing of Brendan Sheerin, the host of the reality TV programme Coach Trip. He said: “Travelling by coach can be great fun. I’m delighted to be partnering with Coachfinder.co.uk to launch this new website and raise the profile of coaching in the UK.”

One of the providers is Kent-based The Kings Ferry, which is part of the National Express Group. Managing director Ian Fraser said: “Our aim is that Coachfinder.co.uk will encourage more groups to consider travelling by coach by making it easier to find and hire the right coach, alongside providing great value.”
