The Spanish Tourist Office has launched a new social media tourism campaign called ‘Spain in 10 seconds’.

The campaign features 12 prominent Spanish ambassadors and Spanish personalities including psychiatrist Luis Rojas Marcos, designer Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada and badminton champion Carolina Marín – who describe why they love their country in a short clip.

Users are encouraged to upload their own videos to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram showcasing what they love about Spain (in less than 10 seconds), using hashtag #Spainin10Sec, in a bid to highlight personal perspectives, unique places, customs, quirks and rhythms and the way of life of Spanish people.

The campaign, in 15 countries, has been launched by TurEspaña via Spain’s official social media channels, and an unnaned Spanish famous tennis player, F1 driver, ballet dancer, chef, opera singer and golf player will add their voices to the campaign in coming months.

A “digitally savvy and highly-engaged audience” with a high disposable income and a “propensity to enjoy a wide range of experiential activities whilst on holiday” will be targeted as Spai looks to boost year-round travel.

It has been segmented via user’s interests, destination of origin, and affinity with the ambassadors.

‘Spain in 10 seconds’ is a continuation of Spain’s 2017 digital campaign ‘Spain is part of you’ but is focused on the traveller’s motivations rather than the destination’s tourism proposition, positioning the visitor at the heart of the campaign.
