TRVL names former Expedia Affiliate Network boss as chief executive

Fledgling peer-to-peer travel booking platform TRVL has named former Expedia Affiliate Network boss Arthur Hoffman as chief executive.

Hoffman is stepping up from the role of chief operating officer to succeed Jochem Wijnands, TRVL’s founder.

Wijnands said: “As TRVL is successfully transitioning from a start up to a scale up, the experience and qualities of Arthur make him the perfect CEO going forward.”

Hoffman added: “On demand and personalised travel advice is clearly the direction the online travel market is moving into, and TRVL is spear-heading that trend.”

The company started trading last June and now offers access to more than two million hotels, home-stays and vacation rentals.

It claims users in over 115 countries and supports payments in 13 currencies.

TRVL works with Booking.com, Priceline, Agoda, Expedia and Hotels.com and has received $ 3.7 million in funding.
