Travel technology provider Ixaris has been recognised alongside companies like Deliveroo, Shazam and Zoopla as one of 26 fast-growing companies in the UK’s Future Fifty.

The government-backed initiative is aimed at maximising business potential and also counts Skyscanner among its alumni.

Its recognition gives payments specialist Ixaris immediate access to a peer network, expert-led classes and workshops while the team becomes part of a wider network encouraged to influence government policy and inspire the next generation.

Chief executive Alex Mifsud said: “We are delighted to be recognised among a select group of businesses, some of which have already left an indelible mark on the UK economy. The travel sector, which is our sphere of influence, is undergoing enormous change and we are excited to be in a position where we can help influence progress and a smooth, value-driven customer experience for travellers.”

Future Fifty has been the platform for five IPOs to float on the London Stock Exchange, 23 mergers and acquisitions, more than $5.5bn of funds raised and is behind companies that have created 27,000 jobs in 59 countries worldwide.
