Liz Emmott has been promoted internally to become Amadeus UK general manager.

Emmott is currently sales director and succeeds Champa Magesh, who is moving to Singapore as Asia Pacific retail travel channels vice president for the company.

Emmott will be responsible for overseeing business strategies, championing the needs of the market and continuing the company’s initiatives to drive growth for its customers.

The appointment takes effect from April 1 and she will be based at Amadeus’ office at Gatwick.

Magesh said: “As I embark on my new role based in Singapore, I am delighted to be entrusting the UK business into the capable hands of Liz Emmott.

“Although it’s tough to say goodbye to such a dynamic market, I’m confident that Liz’s appointment will ensure the company gears up for even greater success in 2018.”

She added: “I have worked alongside Liz for more than two years. She demonstrates tireless enthusiasm, commitment to meeting the needs of the market and the ability to understand the challenges and opportunities facing travel sellers.

“Liz brings a depth of business experience gained from working across travel and the payments industry, which will be a huge asset as she takes the helm at Amadeus UK.

“I’m confident that Liz and the rest of the UK team will continue to build on the success of local partnerships, working together to shape the future of travel in new and exciting ways.”
