GoEuro has hired a former Microsoft partner as its vice president of engineering.

Before joining the booking platform, he spent five years leading the Skype division of Microsoft in Prague, Czech Republic, most recently as a Partner GM, engineering.

In that role he led a team of engineers in Prague, Tallinn, Luxembourg, London, Palo Alto, and Redmond.

In his new role at GoEuro, Vocetka will lead GoEuro’s current 100+ strong engineering team in Berlin and help the company launch of its second office in Prague.

He said: “I’m happy to be relocating to Berlin to join GoEuro at such a pivotal time for the company.

“In a short period, GoEuro has doubled its user growth and built a skilled engineering team. I hope to be able to lead this team into an exciting future as we expand our market presence, evolve our product, and help more and more people travel hassle-free.”

GoEuro CEO Naren Shaam added: “With a solid background in building and scaling both technology and start-ups, Tomas’ experience is exactly what we need. I know our team is excited to be working with him and I’m pleased to have him with us as we look to open our second office in Prague, a city that he knows very well.

“The Czech capital has an exciting, growing tech scene and a culture of entrepreneurship which makes it the perfect location for our future plans, and a great place to find new colleagues to join us on our journey.”

GoEuro announced in January that it reached a milestone of attracting 20 million visitors to its platform per month, double what it had achieved in recent months.
