Carlson Wagonlit Travel has appointed Scott Hyden as senior vice president and chief experience officer of its hotel division RoomIt.

His role will be to provide strategic leadership over RoomIt product and distribution channels and the user experience with the target of increasing customer retention and improving operational efficiency.

Hyden starts on February 12 and will be based out of RoomIt’s new Chicago HQ. He will report to David Falter, RoomIt’s newly-appointed President.

Prior to joining RoomIt, Scott was global vice president of the Enterprise Customer Group for Travelport and previously led Travelport’s business in the Americas.

Before joining Travelport, Scott was president of STA Travel Inc. and held general manager roles for Travelocity Business, where he oversaw all aspects of Travelocity’s global corporate agency offering, and Travelweb, where he was responsible for strategic and tactical initiatives associated with product development, online and offline marketing, and quality assurance. He also spent ten years with American Airlines.
