Flight Centre Travel Group is looking to support fledgling travel technology firms.

The Australian agency group is partnering with leading start-up accelerator Plug and Play, based in Silicon Valley in the venture.

Flight Centre chief executive Graham Turner said: “Together we hope to discover, support and scale promising travel technology start-ups.

“We are engaging across verticals such as air, hotels, cruise, tours and product distribution. We are also interested in promising in-destination services and technologies.”

The chain’s chief digital officer Atle Skalleberg added: “We serve millions of customers and are always looking for innovative ways to improve the user experience, from search and booking all the way through the travel experience.
