Amadeus has named Joost Schuring to the role of vice president EMEA after less than a year in his previous position.

He will lead Amadeus’ travel channels business in the region and oversee several subsidiaries including Traveltainment, Pyton and Hiberus.

Schuring moves from being vice president of northern, eastern, central and southern Europe since January and has been with the company for 16 years.

Decius Valmorbida, recently appointed travel channels senior vice president, said: “Joost brings a deep understanding of the travel industry and great expertise in managing regions.

“I am more than confident that Joost will bring tremendous value and energy to the region and will continue to drive the business forward.”

Schuring said: “As travel evolves and customer needs change, we continue to focus on providing an enhanced range of IT solutions that will help our partners achieve their objectives whatever their strategy.
